The P-FSM150S is a new Piezoelectric Fast Steering Mirror which has been developed for Space Optical Communication, and which has been especially designed for very large scale constellations. The P-FSM150S was developed during ARTES project with CNES funding, in order to meet both ECSS space grade flight & low cost requirements for recurring production batch up to thousands of units. The design has been especially optimized to feature very low number of parts, with very fast manufacturing and assembly processes, together with optimized supply chain for large quantities of space grade optical mirrors. The very compact and light-weight design allows to withstand very high shock and vibration levels, while providing with +/-10 mrad large dual axis tilt amplitudes and high frequency control bandwidth. The P-FSM150S has successfully passed space qualification environments like thermal vacuum, vibration and shock testing. It is currently involved in a lifetime test demonstration at accelerated frequency and high stroke. This fatigue test already reached 3,6.10cycles at the end of 2021 without any failure and on the way to cross the 10 billion cycles beginning of 2022.

CTEC is pleased to announce the successful tests of the second qualification model of Tip Tilt Actuators (TTA). This APA500XXL actuator will be used in the stabilization units for the M5 mirror of Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). It displays 680µm of stroke and a stiffness of 70N/µm. The encapsulation of the piezo material has been successfully tested without any leakage detected. In 2021, this qualification model went through the lifetime tests: 22 Million cycles were performed successfully at full stroke. This result, combined with a good thermal behavior, allows CTEC to pass the Final Design Review successfully two months ahead on schedule. In 2022 CTEC will have to deliver the final Units. They shall be able to operate at least for 30 years.

The new CMAµ10 drive electronic has been specifically developed for the driving of small size linear magnetic actuators, such as MICA20CS, as well as small size magnetic Fast Steering Mirrors such as M-FSM62. It is a low power drive electronic, based on low noise linear power amplifier, providing current and voltage up to 1A and 24V. The MCAµ10 is based on output current closed loop control, which is the best precise and fast approach for both force control, and position control, of magnetic actuators.  The MCAµ10 has been specially developed and tuned for resonant and frictionless flexure bearing actuators, such as MICA actuator family, in linear motion for proof mass applications, and in rotational tilting motion for the fast and fine positioning of mirrors, such as M-FSM actuator family for optical communication. The MCAµ10 is best applicable to any over small size magnetic actuators, in linear, rotational, or tilting motions,  such as voice coil and moving magnet actuators, and is especially relevant for applications requiring cascaded control, implementing in series the MCAµ10 inner current control with any customer controller based on customer sensors.

The DTT60SM-SG is a piezo Tip Tilt steering Platform with 10 mrad peak to peak amplitude (+/- 5 mrad) along 2 orthogonal axes of rotation Rx & Ry. The unloaded resonance frequency is higher than 1.6 kHz which open large bandwidth steering mirror operations. This steering platform can welcome a large spectrum of mirror diameters up to 2 inches (~50 mm). As an option, CTEC can also provide the user with a specific mirror integrated and tested with the DTT60SM-SG platform.  Strain Gages Sensor (SGS) are bonded on each axis to monitor the angular positioning and the related SGS conditioner is integrated in the PCB platform. This embedded SGS conditioner allows the SGS positioning feedback signal to be non-sensitive to the external disturbances and to the cable length between the DTT60SM-SG and the controller. This is very useful for embedded Electro Optic systems where control electronics and optical payloads can be separated by long distance cable. The low capacitance per axis (3uF) leads to reduce the power consumption over a large control bandwidth. The CCBu40 controller box is recommended for using the DTT60SM-SG in dynamic condition with operating frequency up to 200 Hz at full stroke. The main applications are Fast steering Mirrors, micro-scanning, speed tracking, Anti blurring and Line of sight stabilization in embedded Electro Optic systems.
