CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES (CTEC) Piezo Fast Steering Mirrors’ (P-FSM) platform and their associated electronics are widely used in optical instruments, cameras, telescopes and electro optic systems embedded on airplanes, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), satellites, spacecrafts, etc...
The double Tip/Tilt Platforms have an excellent dynamic performance, reliability over a large temperature range and compactness make them ideal for the following mechatronic functions & applications:
The Commercially Of The Shelves (COTS) Solutions for P-FSM used as Beam Steering Mirrors (BSM) are presented below. A dedicated brochure Fine & Fast Steering Mirrors presents the customized and OEM FSM solutions already delivered by CTEC to the Space and Electro Optic market.

The piezo tip tilt DTT60SM-SG generates 2 rotations around axis X (tip) and Y (tilt). It includes strain gages (SG) positioning sensors and their build-in SG conditioner electronic board for higher resolution and positioning control robustness in embedded and field applications. The optical deflection angle can reach up 1.2° with mirror up to 2 inches diameter.
Max Angular stroke > 10 mrad; Unloaded resonance frequency > 1,750 Hz; Dimensions < 60mm diameter*40 mm height
Mirror size under request & specific control loop calibration
Standard
The double tilt translator DTT35XS-SI-2 generates 2 rotations around axis X (Tip) and Y (tilt). Its interfaces are suitable for having high dynamics motion with small diameter glass mirror (< 1 Inch).
Max Angular stroke 5 mrad; Unloaded Blocked-free resonance frequency 2 600 Hz; Dimensions 21.4mm*45mm*65mm
Strain gauges, Vacuum
Standard
The tilt translator is based on 2 APA 60SM actuators. Two types of movement can be generated: translation and tilt but only Tilt motion is available in standard definition.
Rx angular displacement (mrad) : 22; Unloaded resonance frequency (Hz): 400; Capacitance per axis (uF): 3
Strain Gauges; Vacuum
